Local shops/amenities
Shops, bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance.
Oroklini village is well worth trying for shops, there is a very good general store with competitive prices, a couple of bakeries, hairdressers and new business starting all the time it seems.
Local places to see -
Climb the hill behind Oroklini village to the old church for a superb view over the village and surrounding area, you don't have to walk - the track is OK for cars. Turn left and then right at the clock.
Note for bird watchers, the house is 10 minutes walk to one of the prime birding sites in the area at Oroklini Lake.
Car Hire We recommend demisrac@spidernet.com.cy they will give you first class service, delivery/collection of car to airport and a good rate. Please tell them that we recommended them in order to get best prices.
Easy access to Northern Cyprus. The house is only 20 minutes drive to the border crossing at Pergamos (through Pyla) where there is easy access to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. You can cross here and return at one of the other crossings if you wish. Please check the latest customs regulations before you bring back any goods though!
Currency in the TRNC is Turkish Lira - but there are ATMs in the big towns and most businesses will accept Euros, U.S. Dollars or Sterling. Most fuel stations accept credit/debit cards.
