Quermanco
Surrounded by mountains and the sea Llanca is the favourite place in Spain of the famous journalist and weather presenter, Josep Cuni who today hosts a weekly one hour talk show on Spanish television.
A delightful 1 km coastal walk into Llanca Port with its many pleasant bars and restaurants and picturesque marina gives this residential sea-view apartment an ideal location, close enough to the port and old town to walk there and back. 1 km further on lies the old town of Llanca itself with the Placa Mayor, Tree of Liberty, Romanesque Church and 13th century Tower all together creating the perfect setting for a relaxing coffee or beer depending on the time of day. The old town (poble) gives a good taste of normal village local life every morning until 13h and then again from 16h to 20h.
The region of the Alt Emporda , to which Llanca belongs, boasts 1500 km of signposted hill and coastal walking trails, which might help justify an inevitable indulgence in the fresh fish and other culinary delights of Catalunya on offer.
Accommodation consists of 2 bedrooms, bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, a separate toilet / washroom, living/dining room, kitchen and terrace with a nice sea view in one direction and the hills in the other. The appartment can comfortably sleep up to four - there is one double bed in one bedroom and two singles in the other.
Equipped with washing machine, full size cooker and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, TV, DVD player, barbeque grill, the appartment is suitable for those who wish to try their hand at cooking the local market produce.
Of course it is as inexpensive to eat out in the many restaurants and bars in Llanca Port (1 km) with a nice leisurely 20 min walk back to digest. Even closer to home (250m) is the beach Taverna Blau (run by Maria at the Playa de Grifeu or the fine terrace restaurant at the Hotel Grifeu (200 m).
For the cooler months there is a wood open fire and electric heaters in bedrooms and bathroom (meter readings apply in winter months).
All bed linen is supplied and cleaning pre and post occupancy is also included in the rental rates. Towels are not supplied.
A code of no pets and no smoking is to be respected, although the front courtyard accomodates the latter.

"We got the chance to visit, for four days, the nice Costa Brava village of Llanca.
Although it was a short stay, we took the time to admire the sea ...serveral times (at 100m from the appartment) and walked along the coastal path to the Port of Llanca, where the local fishermen were just coming in with their catch of the day (5 pm) , followed by an interesting auction of the freshly landed fish.
On another day we visited the Monastere of St Pere de Rodes, with its incredible restauration .... thanks to the European Union, which has given back to mankind the prestige and magnificence this monument enjoyed in the middle ages.
Another excursion involved a visit to the villages of Cadaques and Port Lligat (both linked to Dali, Gaudi and other artists) and we enjoyed a walk in the Natural Park Reserve of Cap de Creus .... even taking a plunge in the water for a small bahia for a few minutes (in the month of March ! ).
The appartment is very well situated, with all commodities, and perhaps the most important, we felt at home during this short visit.
